The Butch Cassidy Cup is a Memorial Cup ffor the first official Disc dog, Butch Cassidy. It all started with Butch's joy in catching the Discs i actually trew for a human partner. The Disc became his most favourid toy!
Fazinated as i was i surfed the internet to find more informations about that dog and disc thing. It was a great feeling as i found out and realized that the so called Disc Dog Sprot really existed!!!Since the late 70's this sport was an established dog sport over there!
Butch became a successful Disc Dog with shows on TV, in footballstadions and many other Spots!
He died much to early with the age of only 7years on a bad desease. As a memorial and honor for that great and unique dog his owner Jochen and his friends yearly organize the Butch Cassidy Cup - The German DiscDog Masterships!
This year the BCC goes to round 8 and will take 2days! Beside the BCC as the oldes DiscDog Event in europe and a UFO Major Event!! more and more freestyle frisbee players come and join the event! Moreover many Freestler from Karlsruhe help us organizing the event and since the Szene is growing more and more we desided to give both sprots, Disc dogging and Freestyle Frisbee a day for their sport! disc Dogs on Saturday, Freestyler on Sunday!
